See it of you like assassin's and some smooth action but don't have the time or desire to invest in layered characters or story. In general, Kite Liberator ends feeling very premature and half baked. Just as i was getting interested in them the credits began to roll. This annoyed me mostly because i actually was liking the characters i saw.

Character arcs are started and begin to be flushed out, when the movie is suddenly and confusingly halted.
Any number of ideas are presented and not a single one is carried to term. All the characters battling feel graceful and capable of prolonged conflict but none of the action scenes go on very long and even the climax at the end felt snubbed. Written, directed, and with characters designs by Yasuomi Umetsu and once again animated at Arms, Liberator is the only one of the three OVAs that wasn't produced as a Hentai OVA - that means no uncut version with sex scenes, just an hour of story and action. All this is good but the action never seems to reach the peak of it's potential. Kite Liberator is a 2008 single episode OVA and the sequel to Kite. Taking place several years after the events in the original Kite film, Kite Liberator starts off with crew members of ISS along with Kichi Doi, a food formulation researcher at Defy Foods, returning. It was also adapted as a manga serialzed in Comic Valkyrie magazine.
